Inspiring Schools Productions

The Children's Opera Project's fast-paced, engaging schools concerts are the core of our touring program. Designed as incursions for primary aged students, the concerts are available throughout NSW and in other states and territories where possible. Don't hesitate to get in touch!

We can present up to three performances at your school per day, and each session lasts around fifty minutes. Q&A sessions with the cast are available on request.

Lennie's Great Adventure

Composer Lachlan Massey

Lennie Gwyther is an Australian hero. His journey from Leongatha in Victoria to the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge is a story that’s worth telling. Hear this inspiring tale in a 50 minute children’s opera adaptation from Australian composer Lachlan Massey. Don’t miss the opportunity to hear this piece following its Sydney Opera House premiere in March!

Dates: Available as an incursion on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays during Term 2 and 3, 2026.
Timing: 50 minute performance
Teaching pack includes:
  • Six original unison and two-part songs for that you can use in class or for your own performances before watching the show
  • Separate percussion arrangements to learn in the classroom
  • Worksheets to learn about Lennie’s unique story, including new syllabus writing links

​Suitable for: K-6
Optional extra: 50 minute composer workshop, to discuss and rehearse the pieces with the composer.
 Cost: $8.50 per student + a $70 booking fee per school
Earlybird discount: $8 per student when booking received prior to 10 November (Week 5, Term 4).
Numbers: Minimum 150 students. Up to three shows per day. Workshop additional $250.
