Lennie Gwyther is an Australian hero. His journey from regional Victoria to the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge is a story that’s worth telling. Following its premiere at the Sydney Opera House, hear this inspiring tale in a 60-minute children’s opera adaptation from Australian composer Lachlan Massey at the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre on 13 August.

The Children's Opera Project produces contemporary opera that is fun, fresh and engaging from its base in Sydney, Australia. Founded in 2018, the company has performed children’s operas such as Pinocchio!, Hansel and Gretel and Mulga Bill's Bicycle to packed houses at The Concourse and the Sydney Opera House, as well as regional venues. Its schools concerts have been well received by teachers and students alike, bringing energetic productions to classrooms and school halls of all shapes and sizes. Recently the company worked with Aija Draguns', commissioning and premiering her children's opera, Max and Moritz.
